Devin Rylan Andersen is a Fine Artist and Fabricator based in Los Angeles. Originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Andersen received his BFA in Fine Arts from Otis College of Art and Design in 2013.

From 2013 to 2015, Andersen was Co-Owner and Curator of an artist-run gallery, The Barber Shop Art Space, in the West Adams area of Los Angeles. At that time, he was also part of a Los Angeles-based art collective, The Arts Faculty.

In recent years, he has been working as a Construction Coordinator, Fabricator, and Installer for Fine Artists, Commercial Businesses, Photography, and Film Production, as well as his personal studio practice.

As an experienced fabricator and carpenter, he explores mediums used in production/renovation jobs and incorporates the material studies into his mixed media paintings. He also integrates found objects and industrial materials with traditional modes of fine art making. This interplay between found objects, discarded industrial material, and faux finish style of painting informs the majority of Andersen’s work while solidifying a unique perspective on labor and form.

In recent years, he has been collaborating with the artist, Alexis Branger, under the name ABDA Collective. Their collaborative works have shown with galleries in Los Angeles, New York, Miami and Mexico City.
